Morwenstow Active Health
The new facilities compliment the existing children's play area at the Playing Fields.
We have a 7 piece outdoor fitness area. This can be used by up to 12 users at once. This is located next to the children's play area. Great to be able to exercise while your children play.
We have a tarmac pump track that is suitable for use by all manner of wheeled apparatus. You can use your bike, skateboard, scooter or even roller skates to master the curves and turns of our pump track.
Children even enjoy running around it, if they don't have their sports equipment!
The last and largest addition to this project is the Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA). We are able to take bookings for exclusive use of this space with or without sports equipment, at an incredibly reasonable rate. We also able to offer free play after school times and at weekend afternoons.
The MUGA is intended for public use and is a ‘self-service’ site.
However, some slots are bookable; please check the timetable posted online at: www.morwenstowparish.gov.uk/active-health, before commencing play to make sure it is free.
Bookings will always take priority over free use.
If you are required to vacate when a pre-booked timed slot comes up, please do so without argument.
MUGA opening hours are:
8:00am – 9:00pm Monday – Friday;
8:00am – 7:00pm Saturdays; and
10:00am – 6:00pm on Sundays/Bank Holidays
It is possible to book exclusive use of the MUGA to play sports within the times listed above. There are also free play times within the opening times above.
Sports available:
Netball (equipment provided)
Tennis (equipment provided)
Basketball (equipment provided)
Football (equipment provided)
Pickleball/Badminton* (equipment not currently available but if you have your own – you can book the space, the lines are on the court)
The court itself can be booked for other events. This could be keep-fit classes or training for a sport and so on.

Sessions are priced at £10 per session
The duration of a session is 90 minutes – this allows for 15 minutes of set up/pack away time, before and after 60 minutes of play.
Upon securing your booking with your payment – you will be given the code to access the equipment.
You will be required to sign & return a hirer agreement.
You can BOOK ONLINE via this website.
Free play sessions are daily between 3pm and 6.00pm.
Weekend free play will be from 1.30pm until close.
Times may vary during school holidays.

The MUGA is a self-service site.
Bookings can be made for individual or block sessions.
Sessions run of 90 minutes, this allows for 15 minutes of set up time at the start and end of the 60 minutes of play.
Bookings are priced at £10 per session. Payment must be made in advance and hire is subject to agreement of the hire terms.
Bookings will always take priority over free play.
If you are using the MUGA and a hirer arrives - please leave without fuss.
Failure to do so will regrettably result in free play being withdrawn.
